涉外保姆是指专门为在中国居住的外国人、港澳台同胞或外籍华人家庭提供家政服务的家政服务员。她们通常在涉外高档社区，负责照看孩子、做西餐、清洁等工作，这类工作要求较高，通常需要有一定的涉外服务经验、沟通能力，甚至掌握基础外语，下面谈谈找涉外保姆的方法和注意事项。 

Expatriate nannies are domestic service workers who provide housekeeping services to foreigners, compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, or overseas Chinese families residing in China. They typically work in upscale communities catering to expatriates, and are responsible for tasks such as childcare, preparing Western meals, and cleaning. These jobs require a high level of expertise, typically including experience in providing services to expatriates, strong communication skills, and even basic foreign language proficiency. Below, we discuss methods and precautions for finding expatriate nannies.

涉外高级保姆，非常稀缺，普通的家政服务员难以满足涉外雇主的需求，好不容易联系来的高级涉外保姆，推荐给雇主后成功率很低。那些真正需要涉外保姆的雇主很难找到好的涉外保姆，导致很多涉外雇主找保姆经常踩坑，原因是：

一、涉外高级家政服务员少，很多家政服务员不了解市场，只拿到初级证书就不再主动进修，或是想做家政服务工作的人不知道社会的需求，即使知道了也难以找到涉外渠道。

二、培训不完善，其实很多标榜涉外、高级的家政公司并没有达到应有的水平，其推荐的家政服务员也没有经过正式认证；与此同时，一些培训机构的师资和培训系统不完善，快速出炉的涉外家政服务员根本不能掌握英语口语和计算机办公等技能。

三、现有的一些涉外、高级家政服务员对现实市场的认识有些脱节。两年前本市首次开展的涉外保姆培训结业后，不少服务员并没有找到合适的工作，原因是觉得前途被描绘得太理想了，可一找工作却发现收入和预期相差不少。大家认为给外国人当保姆价格应该很高，殊不知自己的能力并没有达到用户的需求，想要达到一定的收入水平也是需要慢慢积累经验的。

有个雇主在7年里聘请了20多个保姆，和各种涉外家政公司打过交道，这位雇主总结了几种阿姨千万不要选，真金白银换来的经验，总结如下。

Ordinary domestic workers struggle to meet the needs of expatriate employers, and even when they manage to find a high-end domestic helper, the success rate of recommendations is very low. Employers genuinely needing expatriate domestic helpers often struggle to find good ones, leading to frequent problems when hiring. The reasons are:

1. The scarcity of high-end domestic helpers specializing in expatriate services means many domestic workers lack market knowledge, only obtaining basic certificates and then ceasing further training. Others who want to work in domestic service are unaware of the market demand, and even if they are, they struggle to find relevant channels.

2. Inadequate training programs. Many domestic service companies claiming to offer expatriate or high-end services do not meet the required standards, and their recommended domestic workers are not formally certified. Simultaneously, some training institutions lack qualified instructors and adequate training systems, resulting in hastily produced expatriate domestic helpers who lack basic English speaking and computer skills.

3. Some existing expatriate or high-end domestic helpers are out of touch with the realities of the market. Two years ago, after the city's first training program for expatriate nannies concluded, many graduates struggled to find suitable employment. The reason? The career prospects were portrayed as overly rosy, but upon closer inspection, they discovered the income fell far short of their expectations. Many believed that nannies working for foreigners must be very expensive, unaware that their skills didn't meet the clients' needs, and that achieving a certain income level required gradual experience.

One employer, who hired over 20 nannies over seven years and dealt with various expatriate domestic service companies, summarized several types of nannies to avoid – lessons learned through hard-earned experience, as follows.

一来就开始挑活立规矩，说什么带孩子就不能干活、打扫卫生就不能做饭等。除非你家房子贼大，孩子特别难带，否则这些活本来就是属于她的工作范围内的。

当初我们家就遇到过一个保姆，号称手腕有伤不能抱孩子，当时我怀孕五个多月，导致各种外出都需要我自己亲自抱着二十多斤的哥哥，但凡力气活都挑着不干。很明显这是态度没摆正，不是偷懒就是能力不行，所以遇到这种情况，如果你答应她，后续她还会有其它要求。你人傻钱多好说话还挨累。如果你不答应她，开局就是僵局，后续也会不愉快。

保姆儿女怀孕的慎选，随时可能被召回老家带孩子；儿女马上面临中考高考的慎选，考前一般会请个大长假；家庭压力十分大的慎选；老人大或者孩子小的，随时可能会因为家务事告辞......

三天两头跟你要东西，并且非常喜欢炫耀前雇主和前前雇主多牛，她的目的就是让你别看不起她，不要使唤她干那么多活，有时候甚至站在你头顶上叫你做事，我觉得这就是心态和位置没有摆好。其实加入我们这个家庭是帮我们解决问题的，不是给家里又请了一个婆婆，家里很难容下这尊大佛。

From the moment they arrive, they start picking and choosing tasks and setting rules, saying things like, "If you're taking care of the child, you can't do any housework," or "If you're cleaning, you can't cook," etc. Unless your house is extremely large and your child is exceptionally difficult to care for, these tasks are actually within their job scope.

We had a nanny who claimed she couldn't carry the baby because of a wrist injury. At the time, I was over five months pregnant, which meant I had to carry my son (who weighed over 20 pounds) myself for every outing. She refused to do any heavy lifting. Clearly, this showed a poor attitude; she was either lazy or incompetent. So, if you agree to her demands, she'll likely have more requests later. You're being naive, rich, and easy to talk to, only to be overworked. If you don't agree, it'll start as a stalemate and lead to unpleasantness later.

2. Carefully consider nannies from families with unstable home environments: Those whose children are pregnant may be called back to their hometown to care for the children at any time; those whose children are about to take the middle school or college entrance exams may need to take a long leave of absence before the exams; those with extremely high family pressure may be unsuitable; those with elderly parents or young children may leave at any time due to household chores…

3. Those who are overly assertive and don't consider themselves part of the family: Those who constantly ask for things and love to boast about their previous employers or ex-ex-employers, their goal being to make you feel inferior and not expect them to do so much work. Sometimes they even act superior, ordering you around. I think this shows a lack of proper mindset and position. Joining our family is meant to help us solve problems, not to bring another mother-in-law into the household. It's difficult for a family to accommodate such a domineering person.

乍一听经验丰富，但是你要了解她每个宝宝大概带了多久，之前的宝宝的详细作息又是什么样了。如果是两年带了二十几个孩子，那稳定性也太可怕了。如果你是新手宝妈，初次挑选保姆，不要被各类证书虚晃，像母婴护理师证、育婴师证、早教师证，不管她含金量高不高，实际的真本事才是最主要的。我们完全可以请一个刚入行，工作经验不是那么丰富的保姆，因为她们对行业套路不是很了解，另外刚工作，上进心还很足，反而比有很多经验的老保姆用着更省心。

你知道阿姨在你老公或者婆婆背后告你的状你怎么办呢？把你家里的隐私添枝加叶的乱传怎么办？挑拨你家人之间的关系你又怎么办？我们在选择保姆的时候尽量选忠厚老实话不太多的保姆，那种贼眉鼠眼一看就没眼缘也不让人放心的保姆，一定不要用。

当然，还有那些有偷盗、暴脾气、***、抽烟、酗酒等的保姆同样应该远离。

4. A nanny who has cared for "many" babies

While she may seem experienced at first glance, you need to know approximately how long she cared for each baby and their detailed routines. If she's cared for over twenty children in two years, her stability is alarming. If you're a new mom choosing a nanny for the first time, don't be swayed by various certificates like maternal and infant care specialist, infant care specialist, or early childhood educator certificates. Regardless of their actual value, real skills are paramount. It's perfectly acceptable to hire a nanny who is new to the industry and less experienced. They may not be as familiar with industry practices and are more motivated than experienced nannies, making them a more reliable and worry-free option.

5. A gossipy nanny

What would you do if your nanny talked about you behind your husband's or mother-in-law's back? What if she exaggerated your family's private matters? What if she tried to sow discord among your family members? When choosing a nanny, we should try to select one who is honest, kind, and doesn't talk too much. Avoid nannies with shifty eyes who are obviously unappealing and untrustworthy.

Of course, nannies with a history of theft, bad temper, gambling, smoking, or alcoholism should also be avoided.
